Peer Groups

Peer Groups:

PCT Peer Groups:

Office of National Statistics (ONS) 2001 Area Classification for Health Areas were used to define peer groups for each PCT (4 peers per PCT). Using 42 variables the include categories such as demographics, employment, and industry, health areas are grouped together based on how similar one area is to another.  The strength of similarity determines the relative “closeness” of a peer.  The peers for each PCT in the East Midlands are shown below.

Acute Trust Peer Groups:

Peers for acute trusts were selected using Dr Foster’s Unit Peer Finder facility.  The top 5 peers (most similar) were selected for each East Midlands acute trust.  Using the peers for each acute trust, the minimum and maximum peer range is defined.
